Ikano obtains green credit from HSBC
Ikano Industry obtains green credit from HSBC thanks to our sustainability plan that includes the efficient use of natural resources, cleaner technologies and more sustainable processes.
This loan will Ikano to continue advancing in the construction of 78 hectares facilities in Ramos Arizpe, where we will be producing mattresses and sofas for IKEA stores in the United States.
Our values and sustainability are so universal that Ikano Industry made the decision to build the first plant outside of Europe. This plant will have the LEED Gold certification for the high degree of sustainability that it incorporates in its various processes. Among which stands out:
- Use of renewable energy from solar panels.
- Efficient use and responsible management of water.
- Reuse of waste in the production and recycling process.
- Desert gardens with endemic vegetation.
Ikano's Mexico plant just like the Polish plant today, it will have a foam recycling process center, resulting in Repoliol, where we obtain the flexible foam that is one of the main components of our products.
It should be noted that this type of process is unique in Europe and Latin America. Likewise, we will have a research center where we will look for new ways to recycle our products more efficiently for the benefit of our customers at IKEA and our planet.
Our facilities will become a true community with a nursery for employees' children, recreational areas and sports fields. It will be a second home that will take shape over the next few months.

In addition to those already mentioned, our facilities at Ikano Industry Mexico also have the following characteristics, ensuring sustainability and care for the environment:
- The equipment and accessories used in toilets are water saving devices
- We have recreational areas for our collaborators
- We have facilities to charge electric vehicles, provided with energy from our solar panels
- More efficient and energy-efficient HVAC systems
- Our roofs and parking lots are made of materials that reflect sunlight and heat
